About the MPSF Speaker Series

Founded in 1990, the MPSF Speaker Series has grown to become the largest speaker series in the United States, averaging over 8800 subscribers annually.

The original (Peninsula) Series began in San Mateo 1990, in response to the desire for stimulating intellectual entertainment in San Mateo. The concept of bringing nationally recognized speakers to a local community was so successful that over the years we expanded into Marin (now with two nights, Marin and Marin 2) and San Francisco, which ultimately moved into the beautiful and historic Oakland Paramount Theatre to the great delight of continuing subscribers.

MPSF Speaker Series brings eight speaker events per year to each of the Series locations – all designed for the exchange of ideas, opinion and perspective for the enrichment of the community it serves. Speakers represent a wide variety of subjects from world affairs and politics to business and economics, education and the arts to the environment. Speakers are chosen on the basis of their extraordinary – usually lifetime – achievements and unique expertise in their particular field of endeavor.

The success of the MPSF Speaker Series is directly related to subscribers’ surprise satisfaction in meeting – up close and personal – extraordinary people whom they feel they otherwise might not seek out. The MPSF Staff adds a high level of communication with a personal touch for our subscribers so that they can enjoy the ultimate in speaker event experiences.
